“Sometimes I’m terrified of my heart; of its constant hunger for whatever it is it wants. The way it stops and starts.”

When I first came back from college I never got to see my dad, because he works 2:30pm-1:00am. As a result of this I started a 2 am Pancake tradition. I was living with my mom, and the dog always barked when you would leave and return, and my mom would throw a fit if I left in the middle of the night. My dad would call me and sing the Mission Impossible theme song, and I would climb out my bedroom window, and we’d have epic daddy/daughter dates early in the morning.

We just reinstituted 2 am Pancakes the other morning. It was glorious.

this is the internet after acta“dude I heard there was some sherlock on maple street” “no way I just got some spn on 21st street”

Oh my god yes.

”i just checked out third avenue… there was some amazing M*A*S*H on there you gotta check it out”
“seriously? i just picked up some fawlty towers a few streets back if you wanna know”

what is our lives coming to.

“got some homestuck fanart 5 buildings from here go go go”

Even if the whole internet gets taken down, they will never stop piracy.
Interesting fact: before the internet, in the days when computers read software from tapes, pirate radio stations would play the data for games and software as audio so they could be recorded by listeners and used on their computers.
Additionally, your parents probably pirated music by using cassette tapes to record the music charts from the radio.
The funny thing is, throughout history, this has happened over and over again. Back in the 80’s when everyone was recording pirated stuff on tapes, the entertainment industry was like “STOP DOING RECORDING THINGS, IT’S PIRACY AND YOU’LL KILL MUSIC, MOVIES, AND GAMES FOREVER!”
And now, in 2012, we’re doing the exact same thing with the internet, and still the industry are saying the same thing: “STOP DOWNLOADING THINGS, IT’S PIRACY AND YOU’LL KILL MUSIC, MOVIES, AND GAMES FOREVER!”
And has any of these industries died yet? No. They are, in fact, growing bigger and more profitable every single year.
I know I’ve inadvertently made too much of a serious point on a jokey post, but this is an important thing to bear in mind, especially with all this SOPA, ACTA, and god knows what else nonsense going on. The entertainment industry will never stop piracy, and if they eventually end up dying, it’ll be their own fault for fighting technology instead of embracing it.
