Where will your John Hughes Tribute be tonight?

John Hughes has died at age 59.

In my opinion, John Hughes captured the voice the coming-of-age generation more accurately and honestly than most writer/directors ever came close to. I still scour through my movie collection deep cuts like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, The Great Outdoors or Uncle Buck for a Chicago based laugh or three. What was the first movie you saw in a theater?

Mine was John Hughes’ written/directed Home Alone. (with my mommy.)

I can’t even begin to describe how sad John Hughes passing makes me.
